Science and Faith

Reality is not that easy
Our perceptions of it can get so messy
But our minds thirst for answer
Our wills eager to surrender

Lazy answers have been formulated
Infecting the minds even of the educated
But you must resist the temptation
Use your reason more than your emotion

Just because it is written in an ancient book
Doesn't mean that it's the right outlook
Just because someone called it sacred
From logic and reasoning, doesn't mean it's exempted

Truth is hard to come by
While people can easily lie
Lies and deceptions await
All they need is your faith
If you don't use your reason
You'll satisfy yourself with a delusion

So keep your mind on guard
Those venerated notions you must be ready to disregard
For the pursuit of truth is not child's play
You have to pursue it wherever it will lay

Science embodies experience and reason
A method vastly superior than any other option
In it, our view of things is always improving
Theories get updated with evidence scientists bring

Who's afraid of not knowing?
Who cares if science doesn't explain everything?
Admitting temporary gap in knowledge is worth it
As long as we keep working on it

God, if there be any
Won't favor a believer whose mind is lazy
More than a passionate soul who keeps his sanity
By using a natural gift of distinguishing truth from falsity
